5 Things to Consider Before Mowing The Lawn and Losing a Limb
Reports of children/people losing a foot or toe due to a lawnmower accident happens every single year and more often than you think.
Here are 5 things to consider before mowing your lawn:
Tell children to stay inside. Lawnmowers are loud and children are small and energetic, so it’s not the best combination for safety.
Watch out for rocks and sticks. They can come at you fast and can cause serious injury.
Protect your feet from both your mower and uneven ground.
Make sure you check old mowers or opt for a new one. Older models are harder to use and are of greater danger than new ones with safety features.
Make sure children are being supervised. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that only people older the age of 16 should operate a ride-on mower and only children/people older than 12 should use a push mower.
