How To Get Rid of Foot Odour

Foot odours don’t come straight from the feet but from the bacteria that live on them and dirty socks that cover them. The more sweat there is on the feet, the more they will host extra-smelly bacteria.

Fortunately, a smelly foot isn’t a sign of bad health and there are ways from stopping the smell.

  • Keep your feet dry.

    • Wear socks that help your feet breathe

    • Keep an extra pair of socks with you in case your feet sweat

    • Use baby powder or foot deodorant

  • Clean your feet and in between your toes every day with water and soap before you put your socks and shoes on

  • Air your feet, socks, and shoes out

  • Rub a ratio of 1:1 of benzoin and juniper oil onto your feet. Test it out on a small patch of skin first in case of irritation.

Although having smelly feet is not a health problem, if your feet are unusually sweaty, you may have plantar hyperhidrosis.  Feel free to set up an appointment today to speak with our team of trusted foot health professionals.
